When it is cold or raining, there are not many places in Burgas where a child can swim. The indoor pool at Ability Spa in Hotel Bulgaria is one of them — and since parents keep asking the same things, here are the answers in one place.
How warm is the water
There are two pools. The main one is indoors and heated. The children’s pool is kept at 32–33 °C — almost like a bath. That matters: small children lose heat much faster than adults and start shivering within ten minutes in cooler water. At 32 °C they can stay in far longer.

A day spa card for two adults is €35. For children under 3, call reception before you set off.
What to pack
- Swimwear and flip-flops — for you and your child.
- Swim nappies if your child is not yet out of nappies.
- A second towel. One is included, each extra is €2. With children you usually need at least two.
- Something warm for afterwards — a hat or hoodie for the walk to the car, especially in winter.
- A snack. The pool bar has sandwiches, fresh juices and cakes.
How to make it a good day
Plan no more than an hour to an hour and a half in the water for a small child — even in a warm pool they tire. Breaks on a lounger are part of the fun.
Saunas are not for small children. The Finnish sauna is far too hot. If you want to use the thermal zone yourself, take turns with the other parent.

When it is quietest
The spa is open every day from 07:00 to 22:00. Multisport cards are accepted on weekdays, so weekday evenings after work tend to be busier. For calm, try weekday mornings or early Sunday.
